JOSAA 2021: Registrations Commence for Counselling and Seat Allotment
The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) has officially started the registration process for 2021 counselling and seat allotment. The registration began on October 16, 2021, and is expected to last for a week, providing aspiring students with an opportunity to secure a seat in their preferred institution.
Registrations Open for Prospective Students
JoSAA, the centralised system for the allocation of seats in various engineering institutes across India, has begun receiving applications for the academic year 2021-2022. Candidates who have cleared JEE (Main) and JEE (Advanced) 2021 are eligible to register. The registration process is entirely online, to promote accessibility and convenience.
Process and Deadlines
The registration and choice filling process will be open until October 25, 2021. Prospective students are urged to promptly complete their registration, as late submissions will not be accepted. The first round of seat allotment will be declared on October 27, 2021. In total, there will be six rounds of seat allotment, with the final round slated for November 9, 2021.
JoSAA: Bridging the Gap
JoSAA was established by the Ministry of Education to streamline the admission process for the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), National Institutes of Technology (NITs), Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs) and other Government Funded Technical Institutes (GFTIs). By providing a common platform for seat allocation, JoSAA significantly reduces the complexity associated with admissions, making it easier for students to secure a seat in their preferred institute.
Steps to Register
To register for JoSAA counselling, candidates need to visit the official JoSAA website and follow the registration link. After entering the required details, including the JEE (Main) roll number and password, candidates can start filling their choices. It is advised to carefully review all choices before locking them in, as changes cannot be made after the deadline.
Keep a Close Eye on Updates
After the completion of each round of seat allotment, candidates are required to either accept or reject the allotted seat within a specific timeframe. Failure to do so may result in the forfeiture of the seat. Therefore, it is crucial for candidates to keep track of the schedule and updates from JoSAA to ensure they do not miss any critical deadlines.
In these challenging times, JoSAA is committed to providing a smooth and efficient admission process for all prospective students. The registration is a critical first step in that journey, and candidates are encouraged to complete it at the earliest to secure their future.
Stay tuned for more updates on this developing story.
